Job Description:

Senior Structural Design Engineer

RPS is seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our Structures Team. Our Design Division delivers projects across sectors including residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, manufacturing, data centres, and energy. We focus on balancing form and function with sustainability, materiality, cost, and constructability. Digitalisation is central to our delivery, enabling clients to experience our designs from concept through detailed drawings, supported by expertise across industries and disciplines.

What you’ll be doing:

• Assist management of the structural engineering team
• Manage projects and project teams independently
• Handle financial responsibilities for your projects
• Prepare fee quotations and invoicing
• Manage staff and external consultants
• Develop engineering and technician teams
• Collaborate with stakeholders and clients
• Conduct site visits, structural surveys, investigations, and repairs

Who we’re looking for:

You should have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with chartership (or working towards it) with ICE, IStructE, or equivalent. You should be experienced in designing foundations, masonry, concrete, steel, and timber structures to Eurocodes, particularly in residential and commercial markets, including investigations related to the Building Safety Act. Familiarity with Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit, and experience in structural investigations and reporting is preferred. Strong leadership, decision-making, motivation, initiative, and autonomy are essential.
