Job Title: Senior Structural Design Engineer
Location: Remote / Plymouth (Hybrid)
Contract Duration: 1 Year
Rate: Negotiable on experience

Security Clearance: Must hold or be eligible for SC Clearance

About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to support a major dock infrastructure programme. This role will involve reviewing and managing design packages across civil and structural systems, ensuring compliance with technical, safety, and operational requirements. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering input for a high-profile defence-related project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review civil/structural design packages and ensure integration with other systems
  • Provide expert guidance on structural engineering and compliance with HSE and quality standards
  • Support planning, implementation, and delivery of engineering work packages to time and budget
  • Manage subcontractors and liaise with stakeholders across engineering and construction disciplines
  • Ensure effective documentation, risk assessments, and adherence to quality management systems

Requirements:
  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Chartered status preferred)
  • Experience in heavy civils and marine engineering (remedial marine structures desirable)
  • Familiarity with seismic design is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of quality and safety regulations in complex infrastructure projects
  • Previous experience working on large defence or marine infrastructure programmes is ideal
