Cadillac Formula 1 Team is seeking a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to join our world-class engineering group at the new Silverstone facility. You will drive structural simulations, FEA, and optimization to advance race-car performance and structural integrity.

You will collaborate with design teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment that rewards precision and technical leadership.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering.
  • Expert in FEA with HyperWorks/Abaqus.
  • Experience with composites and laminate theory.
  • Proficient in CAD-FEA integration and scripting (Python/TCL).
  • Good communication and cross-functional influence.
  • Proactive, hands-on and solutions-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Lead structural simulations and optimisations across critical car systems.
  • Perform advanced analyses (linear/nonlinear, buckling, fatigue, optimisation).
  • Conduct composite structure analyses with laminate theory.
  • Collaborate with design groups to refine load paths and concepts.
  • Define and validate structural load cases for regulatory alignment.
  • Prepare documentation and present findings in reviews.
  • Improve analysis workflows and modelling accuracy.
  • Mentor junior/graduate structural engineers.

We areseekinga highly skilled Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to join our world-class engineering team at our new Silverstone facility. You will play a key role in the development of high-performance racing car structures through detailed structural simulations, finite element analyses (FEA), and advanced optimisation techniques.

This role offers the opportunity to shape the structural integrity and performance of components and assemblies across the race car platform, contributing directly to on-track success.You’llcollaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and bring yourexpertiseto bear on a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

  • Lead structural simulations and optimisations across critical car systems to ensure weight-efficient, robust, and high-performing designs
  • Perform advanced structural analyses using industry-leading software (linear/nonlinear, buckling, fatigue and optimisations) as well as conventional hand calculation methods
  • Conduct composite structure analyses, leveraging deep understanding of laminate theory, ply-level failure criteria, and manufacturing constraints
  • Collaborate closely with design groups to challenge concepts, refine load paths, and influence design evolution from concept through to track deployment
  • Define, scrutinise, and validate structural load cases, ensuring alignment with regulatory compliance
  • Prepare high-quality documentation and present findings in technical reviews, ensuring clear communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Lead initiatives to improve analysis workflows, enhance modelling accuracy, and support the development of best practices within the Structure group
  • Mentor and supervise junior and graduate structural engineers, fostering technical growth and analytical rigour
What do we need from you?
  • Degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline
  • Expert in finite element and conventional hand calculation methods, with advanced proficiency in HyperWorks and/or Abaqus
  • Strong experience with composite material analysis and optimisation techniques
  • Proficient in CAD-FEA integration, automation scripting (e.g., Python, TCL), and handling complex load case environments
  • Knowledge of, fatigue, and damage tolerance desirable
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to influence cross-functional design decisions
  • Strong organisational skills with a proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented mindset
