Job description

Senior Strategist

We are looking to hire a Senior Strategist to join our Creative Intelligence team in London. This is an office‑based role out of our London office.

Working at WGSN

Together, we create tomorrow.

A career with WGSN is fast‑paced, exciting and full of opportunities to grow and develop. We’re a team of consumer and design trend forecasters, content creators, designers, data analysts, advisory consultants and much more, united by a common goal: to create tomorrow.

WGSN’s trusted consumer and design forecasts power outstanding product design, enabling our customers to create a better future. Our services cover consumer insights, beauty, consumer tech, fashion, interiors, lifestyle, food and drink forecasting, data analytics and expert advisory. If you are an expert in your field, we want to hear from you.

Role overview

Are you inherently curious, obsessed with future forecasting and deeply motivated to inspire, challenge and support our global partners? You will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the future of foresight and strategy at WGSN. You’ll translate complex consumer shifts into actionable, executive‑level strategies for our top clients, merging cultural intelligence with commercial foresight. This is a role for a strategic thinker who can connect macro trends with micro behaviours and articulate the “why now” behind cultural change impacting the world’s most notable businesses.

We will bring the WGSN training but the ideal candidate is first and foremost a visionary thinker who lives and breathes the intersection of foresight and strategy. They are obsessed with consumer insights, cultural trends, and creative innovation. They are future‑minded and always thinking about the next risk and/or innovation set to impact multiple industries. They are multifaceted in skills: can in one day develop a strategic roadmap for effective growth on another, identify, research and analyse cultural and consumer movements across EMEA, and on yet another, bring the rigour of WGSN forecasts to life with our largest partners.

Key accountabilities
  • Interface confidently with C‑suite and senior clients, providing cultural clarity and future‑focused recommendations
  • Partner cross‑functionally with commercial, content, and marketing teams to produce bespoke strategic plans for our Global top 50 clients; represent Creative Intelligence (CI) at client workshops, client offsites + key industry events
  • Monitor key business and cultural indicators across select top clients, identifying early opportunities and risks
  • Deliver forecasts and client presentations that translate global cultural trends into actionable business opportunities
  • Ensure all content reflects the WGSN and CI tone: insightful, human‑first, and commercially relevant
  • Track and synthesize emerging cultural and consumer signals, contributing to the team’s strategic POV
  • Participate in CI brainstorms, contributing original thinking and creative strategy ideas
  • Identify, research, and analyse emerging cultural movements, behaviours, and signals across EMEA
  • Contribute to the development of CI white papers, signals + original foresight content

This list is not exhaustive and there may be other activities you are required to deliver.

Qualifications
  • Ideally 3‑5 years of experience in trend forecasting, cultural strategy, and/or consumer insights
  • Proven experience presenting complex insights to executive audiences
  • A deep curiosity for how foresight, human behaviour, and culture + creativity intersect with commerce
  • Intellectual humility
  • Strong analytical, writing, and storytelling skills across formats (presentations, workshops, reports, video)
  • The ability to distil ambiguity into clarity and inspire action
  • Knowledge of WGSN platforms and forecasting methodology is a plus
Preferred
  • Experience working with global brands across fashion, beauty, or consumer lifestyle sectors
  • Prior client‑facing experience in strategic consulting, foresight, or brand planning
  • Skilled at balancing data‑driven insight with creative intuition
