Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage proactive and reactive media relations with high-profile issues.
• Experience leading and developing individuals or teams via direct or matrix management.
• Proven success in developing and delivering communications plans, campaigns or media strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate complex information into clear messages.
• Experience overseeing communications with reputational, regulatory or political considerations.
• Ability to advise senior leaders on strategy, stakeholder engagement and messaging.
• Experience coordinating responses during complex issues or crises.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities in a demanding environment.
• Strong understanding of traditional, digital and social media channels.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support 5 communications professionals across two teams.
• Review work to ensure high standards.
• Develop and deliver a communication campaign supporting strategic priorities.
• Lead complex announcements with high-quality plans and materials.
• Proactively bring FCA stories to life via media and other channels.
• Advise Executive Directors on strategy, engagement and messaging.
• Build relationships with senior communicators across government and media.
• Ensure media inquiries are handled effectively, including crisis responses.
• Participate in out-of-hours media queries.
