Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Derby is seeking a Strategic Buyer to lead sourcing efforts from proposal through contract signature and manage supplier relationships across Aerospace and Aftermarket teams.

You will develop category strategies, conduct cost analyses, and drive value by improving terms, performance, and risk management while collaborating with stakeholders in a regulated industry. Hybrid role with three days in the office.

Qualifications

• A degree in a relevant field or CIPS qualification, with experience in strategic sourcing in a regulated or complex industry.
• Proven track record of successful negotiations, with strong commercial/financial skills and understanding of Total Cost of Acquisition/Product Cost Lifecycles.
• Excellent communication, influencing, relationship management skills focused on extracting value for the company.
• Demonstrated ability to drive change, solve complex problems, and show digital awareness and analytical capability.
• Experience of reviewing and drafting contracts.

Responsibilities

• Developing and leading sourcing activities from proposal to contract signature, including negotiation, cost analysis, and business cases for supplier selection.
• Leading contract management, drafting and finalising agreements to ensure compliance and optimum terms.
• Managing commercial risk identification, assessment, and mitigation to ensure supply continuity and resilience.
• Building and maintaining category strategies with stakeholders to extract value while monitoring market trends and technologies.
• Managing supplier relationships and in-contract supplier management, including performance and cost-reduction initiatives.
