Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Stores Person to support and coordinate the daily operations of their warehouse. This is a hands-on role, working closely with a small team to ensure the efficient and accurate handling of goods, inventory management, and stock record maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supervise and manage day-to-day warehouse operations and team performance
  2. Allocate tasks to warehouse staff and monitor workloads
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve process flow issues as they arise
  4. Train new and existing team members
  5. Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new warehouse employees
  6. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficiency initiatives
  7. Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock checks
  8. Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth workflow
  9. Inspect warehouse vehicles, machinery, and equipment (e.g., forklifts, storage racks)
  10. Maintain documentation for vehicles and equipment
  11. Oversee scheduled maintenance and handle unplanned repairs of equipment
  12. Organise and supervise stocktaking activities
Candidate Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a regulated stores or logistics environment
  • Strong IT skills, with the ability to maintain digital stock records
  • Counterbalance Forklift License (preferred)
Hours:

Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (37.5 hours/week)

Pay:

Approximately £15.38 per hour (depending on experience)
