Zusammenfassung

Apple Cloud infrastructure seeks seasoned software and systems engineers to join the Object Storage SRE team. You will design and operate distributed storage systems supporting Apple’s services, with ownership of projects and collaboration across teams.

The role requires on-call readiness for alerts in a globally distributed environment. You will work with Linux internals, various storage solutions, and modern deployment tools while driving reliable, scalable services for millions of users.

Qualifikationen

• Experience building, operating, and scaling distributed storage systems in private, public, or hybrid cloud environments.
• Proficiency in Go, Java, Python, or Rust for designing, authoring, and releasing code.
• Strong understanding of block, object, and file storage in Linux environments (LVM, XFS, ext4, S3, Ceph, Gluster, NFS).
• Knowledge of Linux internals, networking protocols, and distributed systems.
• Experience with provisioning, data migration, backup & recovery, at-scale testing, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.

• Take ownership of projects or deliverables, design solutions, and secure buy-in from stakeholders.
• Design, implement, and deliver features and systems on time, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain service reliability by participating in on-call rotations and handling alerts and escalations.
• Work in a globally distributed team with cross-timezone meetings to drive alignment and execution.
