Cloud and Data Center (C&DC) support servers, databases, storage, Azure Cloud & physical infrastructure for the RWE Group.
This support includes round-the-clock provision of platform services and development operations in collaboration with Managed Service Provider partners.
We are responsible for:
- Engineering: Improving services & products to meet business needs. Design, consultancy, standard setting and 3rd line support.
- Automation & Development: Accelerating & improving services through end-to-end automation & high quality code development.
- Operations: Daily operational support & financial management, including operational availability, deployment patching, incident resolution, request fulfilment.
Your responsibilities
- Serve as Senior Engineering SME for Microsoft Azure platform, including Azure Landing Zone, policies, tagging, subscription design & configuration, enabled services & products, and contribute to security and network design & configuration.
- Focus on Cloud Storage, backup & optimizations.
- Specify, design, and maintain best practices & support for RWE's Cloud and Data Centre (C&DC) Azure platform & Landing Zone in collaboration with internal teams, CSPs, and MSPs.
- Communicate and define RWE IT requirements and standards to Azure platform users & MSP teams, ensuring adherence and providing technical leadership.
- Coordinate & collaborate with other product owners & leads to maximize team potential.
- Drive continuous service improvements, automation, and process optimization to enhance customer experience, reduce inefficiency, and accelerate delivery.
- Create & maintain forward-looking roadmaps for the Azure platform, including dependent systems & processes aligned with business objectives.
- Support project deliveries impacting the Azure platform.
- Ensure adherence to ITIL procedures, actively manage incidents, problems, and change requests.
- Provide guidance and support for team growth.
Your profile
- Approximately 7 years of technical IT experience with Microsoft's Azure Platform, including Azure Landing Zone technology.
- Experience with ARM, Terraform, and other cloud programming languages.
- Experience managing external or managed service providers.
- Strong understanding of cloud benefits, with extensive Azure experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and networking skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve complex problems.
- Willingness to travel (up to four days a month between Germany and the UK, with potential for global travel).
- Motivated to continuously improve IT and soft skills.
- Ability to work closely with IT architects and project managers on technical and planning topics.
- Skilled at articulating complex technical topics to non-technical staff.
- Ability to understand business and IT requirements and translate them into infrastructure solutions.
