Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Senior Statistician to join the Customer, Strategy and Communications team. You will analyze traffic, road safety and customer satisfaction data, build models, write code, and create technical reports and clear commentaries for non-analysts.

You will travel at least monthly to Birmingham or Manchester and may travel to other National Highways locations. The role focuses on statistical guidance, accuracy, and enabling data-informed decisions across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Relevant work experience in a statistical or analytical role.
• Formal statistical training with a degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, science or similar.
• Ability to communicate analytics clearly to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead statistical analysis on customer satisfaction, safety and performance metrics.
• Develop forecasting models for performance metrics on the machine learning platform.
• Produce analytically assured reports and insightful commentary.
• Provide high-quality statistical advice across the organisation.
• Set standards for using data and communicating results; develop team capability.
