This position is to join the Signal Integrity Products (SIP) group. The focus of this Business Unit is automotive LiDAR chipsets, a revolutionary way of using light to detect the position of objects for ADAS systems including autonomous driving. Think radar but using light.

This role is a great opportunity to work with a highly motivated team of engineers who have worked in the communications industry for many years, working alongside a world-class design team to produce market leading products for the data communication’s industry.

Job Summary:

The candidate will be performing laboratory-based RF testing with a good working knowledge of both high-speed semiconductor testing and optical component testing and a strong fundamental lab-based test engineering knowledge.Ideally you will also have recent experience with automotive electronics, preferably RF (up to 1 GHz) and opto-electronics and more specifically transimpedance amplifiers, silicon optical amplifier drivers and laser drivers for optical components. It’s a great opportunity to develop and share their engineering knowledge within a progressive engineering team; working on leading edge technology and industry shaping / disrupting semiconductor devises.

Responsibilities:

Understand and demonstrate knowledge of automotive systems, architecture and applications.

Have a knowledge of the FuSa ISO-26262 process to allow a smooth transition through the “double V” automotive development process from concept to implementation.

Participate in new product design meetings and drive test feature development as required for the successful validation of new automotive products.

Lead the validation solution development for new products (software/hardware/documentation).

Identification of bench-top test equipment for the validation of new products.

Generation of test equipment automation software using Python or Labview.

Collaborate with designers, product, test and applications engineers.

Ownership of validation review meetings.

Creation of validation reports.

Personally, perform NPI activities, including PCB design, RF simulation, documentation, optical component selection, system level testing.

Minimum Qualifications:

BSc/MSc in a relevant engineering degree with at least 7 years relevant work experience.

Able to work under pressure in a highly paced, dynamic R&D environment.

Excellent team-player who positively interacts and shares knowledge.

PCB design and EM simulation experience.

Experience with Automotive systems engineering and SysML modelling, Enterprise architecture, Matlab and Simulink is desirable.

Experience with Automotive Functional Safety is desirable but not mandatory.
