We are seeking a Senior Staff Product Analyst who is a highly analytical problem solver with strong technical experience in data concepts, systems, and techniques. You will play a crucial role in shaping the product roadmap by collaborating with product, engineering, and design stakeholders to propose and conduct in-depth quantitative analysis of key user behaviors, operational metrics, and business trends. Therefore, we are looking for someone proficient in data analysis and who will demonstrate a deep curiosity about our products, customers, and business.

This position involves working with large datasets, using various analytical tools and techniques, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address business challenges and opportunities.

This role will also be a thought leader that promotes a data-driven culture and maturity. You will consult with Product Managers to develop their data skills and with the wider data community within WP Engine to drive the adoption of mature data lifecycle practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate and Influence
  • Translate the technical aspects of quantitative analysis and metrics into actionable insights that can inform decision-making.
  • Create intuitive and compelling data visualizations to allow stakeholders to self-serve data.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify product gaps and evangelize data insights to influence the product roadmap.
  • Create and deliver compelling dashboards with visualizations, and document the analysis, providing insights.
  • Effectively communicate complex analysis to various stakeholders (e.g., executives, team leads, technical and non-technical stakeholders), adapting the approach accordingly.
  • Manage competing priorities in a complex work environment, focusing on high-value activities.
  • Communicate priorities, updates, and resolutions effectively.
  • Evangelize a data-driven culture within the Product organization and promote practices that drive data maturity holistically.
  • Development and Creation
    • Utilize advanced SQL skills to write complex queries, creating joins, extracting and manipulating data, formatting fields, and creating new measures and metrics.
    • Use visualization tools (Looker, Looker Studio) to create interactive dashboards and reports.
    • Collaborate with technical data owners to identify and fill data gaps to meet analysis needs.
    • Contribute to analytical models and ETL pipelines as needed.
    Your Skills and Expertise:
    • 5+ years experience in Product Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Analytics Engineering.
    • Advanced SQL skills; live coding session during interview.
    • Experience with data warehousing, modeling, and mining.
    • Understanding of SDLC in data contexts.
    • Experience with dbt and Python.
    • Experience with Google BigQuery.
    • Extensive experience with Looker and Looker Studio.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent project management skills.
    • Ability to collaborate across distributed data teams.
    • Ability to set expectations with executive stakeholders.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Advanced analytics techniques for predictive, prescriptive, and classification models.
    • Experience with Salesforce, Segment.io as data sources.
    • Experience creating analytical frameworks for product experimentation.
