A leading healthcare trust in Orpington is seeking a Senior Staff Nurse to join their Paediatric Emergency Department. The successful candidate will have expertise in emergency nursing, demonstrate leadership skills, and provide high-quality care to patients. This role involves overseeing shifts and clinical responsibilities, as well as contributing to the professional development of junior staff. Competitive salary of £44,485 to £52,521 per annum offered.
We are recruiting for a Senior Staff Nurse within our Paediatric Emergency Department.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate expert knowledge of emergency nursing and be able to translate this into effective nursing practice. They will need to have proven leadership skills, be energetic, hardworking, proactive, as well as committed to their own professional development and that of others.
Daily leadership within the Children's ED, responsible for shift oversight, resus management of patients, safeguarding and showing leadership.
To provide expert, holistic care of a high standard to both the patients and their relatives within the King's College Hospital.
To take direct managerial responsibility for the clinical area in the absence of or as delegated by the Ward Manager/Head of Department.
To assist in the leadership and development of an identified group of nurses within the department complement.
To act as a clinical resource within the Paediatric ED and across the Care Group as necessary.
To act as a positive role model to junior staff members. Particular emphasis is put at Kings on the need to ensure that all staff recognise their responsibility to deliver services in a high quality, courteous, patient focused manner and to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Clinical Practice To adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and adhere to this at all times. To demonstrate clinical expertise in the care of any patients receiving treatment in the ward/ department.
To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the needs of patients in the department on an ongoing basis, co-ordinating the care given by all members of the clinical team.
