Our unit is looking for you! Do you want to work in a fast-paced, dynamic clinical environment?
Would you like to develop specialist surgical intensive care and pathway-based high dependency nursing skills and knowledge? Do you like to be challenged and think autonomously? If so, we have vacancies for band 6s on our OIR (Overnight Intensive Recovery).
OIR is an 11-bedded unit that manages level two to three patients postoperatively. These patients include elective cardiac, gastrointestinal, general surgical, and vascular. They require highly specialized care, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation, pacing, vasopressor and inotropic support, and advanced monitoring, including spinal drains, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.

Main duties of the job
We offer a personalised induction programme with supervision and support from our dedicated practice development team and one-to-one support from the senior nursing team.
You will have practical and academic support to advance your knowledge and skills in caring for patients requiring invasive and non-invasive ventilation, pacing, vasopressor and inotropic support, advanced monitoring including spinal drains, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring. You will also be offered additional courses to advance your leadership and clinical skills to enable you to be the best you can be.
We are looking for nurses with a willingness to learn, who thrive under pressure, and who have the ability to adapt and refine their skills according to the demands of the unit.
