The successful candidate will be a supervisor to junior staff and support the department manager with the day-to-day running of the clinical activity. You will assist with the delivery of ophthalmic services at Prince Charles Eye Unit.
The post holder will facilitate the provision of excellent nursing care and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
Be a role model and demonstrate leadership competencies, engaging with research and evidence-based practice.
To support pre-operative assessment, developing essential skills such as undertaking biometry measurements and demonstrating knowledge of various ophthalmic procedures to support both service and patient needs.
The post holder will develop key competencies to support emergency eye care, such as nursing assessment and triage of urgent patients, including history taking.
Undertake training according to local policies and procedures to support intravitreal injections (AMD & DMO), and work autonomously where appropriate.
The successful candidate will be part of a large and supportive team, working with different ophthalmology sub-specialties.
