Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation is looking for a Band 6 nurse for its neonatal unit, welcoming applications for full and part-time positions. The role involves leading the ward, supporting clinical excellence, and requires a neonatal qualification along with relevant experience.
An opportunity has arisen for a band 6 post on the neonatal unit; both full and part time applications will be considered.
Applications are invited from nurses currently working as a Band 6 in a Neonatal Unit or suitably qualified band 5 nurses (QIS) with relevant experience on a neonatal unit.
Applicants will be required to attend an interview which will include a brief presentation on a topic which will be provided once shortlisting is completed.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an award winning district general hospital that's working hard to give the community it serves the best possible healthcare. The Neonatal Unit works hard to provide excellent care to our babies and families. We always strive to develop and improve and last year we achieved BFI (Stage 3) and FiCare Accreditations, and were the first Neonatal Unit in the North West to achieve both.
To achieve this we need the best possible people leading the ward as shift co-ordinators.
So come and join us, be proud of yourself.
An experienced and competent health care professional who supports the NNU Manager in the leadership and management of clinical excellence by making best use of the team, developing and implementing policy
and guidelines, and by leading on improvements. The post holder will work collaboratively and cooperatively with others to meet the needs of neonates and their families and take an active part in line management, leadership and development of the team.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of local hospital and community services for people across East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester boroughs (population 357K).

An extensive range of community services is provided across 26 medical centres and schools by our community arm, Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership, in collaboration with Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS FT and the South Cheshire and Vale Royal GP Alliance. With the formation of Integrated Care Systems in July 2022 the Trust became a strategic partner in both Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester ‘places’ and is part of the Cheshire and Merseyside partnership caring for a population of over 2.7million.
During the Coronavirus pandemic, the Trust was recognised nationally for its ‘Be Safe Be EquiPPEd’ campaign, which aimed to make the Trust as safe as possible for staff and patients, through supporting the correct use of PPE.
At Mid Cheshire, our mission is to inspire hope and provide unparalleled care for the people and communities of Cheshire, helping them to enjoy life to the fullest.
The Band 6 staff nurse will act as a shift leader, ensuring the safe running of the ward.
