A renowned NHS Trust in Greater London is looking for an H&T Senior Staff Nurse to supervise patient care in both the Anticoagulation Clinic and the Haemophilia and Thrombosis Centre. The role requires managing a dynamic team and providing clinical leadership while ensuring high standards of patient care. Ideal candidates will have experience in a relevant setting and a commitment to person-centred care.
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Haemostasis and Thrombosis Department at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The H&T Senior Staff Nurse post is a dynamic role, which encompasses the supervision of the department on a day to day basis and direct patient contact in both the Anticoagulation Clinic and the Haemophilia and Thrombosis Centre, with working hours of Monday-Friday, 37.5 hrs.
The post holder will be responsible for assessing, planning and providing specialist nursing advice for patients requiring warfarin dosing, creating haemostasis surgical bridging plans, supporting inpatient areas to provide specialist advice, and working as a key member of the MDT. The role includes triaging patients via the haemophilia and anticoagulation call centre and providing leadership to the nursing and multidisciplinary workforce to deliver high standards of clinical care.
The post holder will also provide clinical supervision to other staff and students, may undertake research, and lead clinical audits in their specialist area. Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of service users and promoting dignity and human rights through person-centred care principles are central to the role.
Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust comprises five of the UK's best known hospitals—Guy's, St Thomas', Evelina London Children's Hospital, Royal Brompton and Harefield—plus community services in Lambeth and Southwark, with a long history of high-quality care, clinical excellence, research and innovation. We employ around 22,700 staff, making us one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country and a major local employer. We aim to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve.
The Haemophilia and Thrombosis team is a dynamic and friendly team. We also run a monthly book club as part of a staff wellbeing initiative, with books kindly donated by authors for the team to read.
