Job Title: Senior Staff Nurse (Chemotherapy Day Care Unit)

As a Senior Staff Nurse in our chemo day care unit, you will work within an experienced nursing team to assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate high standards of specialist care. Your role is to ensure patients are cared for in a safe, caring, and comfortable environment, addressing their medical, physical, and emotional needs through effective communication with patients and their families.

In this role, you will act as deputy to the sister/charge nurse, helping to ensure the highest standards of clinical care are maintained. You will advocate for patients and collaborate within the multidisciplinary team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the unit and safe patient flow. Maintaining high levels of professional behaviour is essential.

Skills & Experience:
  • NMC registered Nurse
  • Experience and competence in Chemotherapy administration
  • Post-registration experience in haematology or oncology settings, or equivalent
  • Clinical skills in venepuncture, cannulation, and intravenous drug administration
  • Knowledge of systemic anti-cancer treatments (e.g., chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy) and their side effects
