Job description

Applications are invited from suitably experienced registered nurses for the post of Senior Staff Nurse in the High Dependency Unit (ward 8) at Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin.

Dr Gray’s Hospital is a District General Hospital, in the historic county town of Elgin, serving a catchment population of 120,000. The hospital has 150 acute beds, a modern operating department with four theatres and a day surgery unit. There is an Accident and Emergency department which works closely with the High Dependency Unit.

High Dependency Unit (ward 8) is a busy 6 bedded inpatient ward providing care and treatment for patients with a range of elective and unscheduled conditions requiring an increased level of care. The case mix includes patients with medical, surgical and orthopaedic conditions, and the beds are used as the patients needs dictate.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Charge Nurse and the clinical and managerial teams within the hospital, to support the delivery of safe, effective and quality care for patients. Applicants are required to have previous medical / surgical experience within ITU, CCU or HDU environment.
