We'd like you to join us as a Senior Staff Nurse at our Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in Nottingham.

At Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre, we offer rehabilitation, care and support to people with a brain injury or other neurological condition.
We're committed to helping every person we support feel safe, happy, empowered enabling them to live the best life possible.

We provide a psychology led multi-disciplinary treatment model to deliver a high quality, specialist service for people who have a neuro disability or acquired brain injury.

You will be working as part of the team on Fernwood Unit:

Fernwood (22 beds) - High dependency rehabilitation

Fernwood is for individuals with particularly complex nursing care needs. Residents may have tracheostomies, require assisted ventilation, or may present with a persistent disorder of consciousness. We also care for individuals who may be in the end stage of a progressive neurological illness. Residents have access to input from the therapy team as standard. Individualised therapy or rehabilitation packages tailored to individual needs and goals are also available. Fernwood is also able to provide tracheostomy weaning programmes on-site, where clinically indicated.

What you'll be working:

We're flexible, so you'll work a total of 38.5 hours per week, days & nights on a rota basis.

What you'll be doing:

  • Acting as Primary Nurse, taking overall responsibility for the nursing input residents receive, through nursing assessments and care planning.
  • Contributing towards MDT working, risk assessment management, and a programme of ongoing clinical improvement.
  • Providing written nursing reports for a range of statutory and clinical review processes.
  • Work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse or key worker for a defined group of patients.
  • Provide clinical leadership to a designated nursing team and ensure the provision of high quality care.
  • Provide a high quality individualised standard of care to a defined group of patients, relatives and carers.
  • Ensure the effective supervision and development of staff.
  • Work and act as a key member of the team, supporting each patient with achieving their planned outcomes.
  • Act as the primary nurse in the assessment of needs and organising of care.
  • Take charge of a designated clinical area.
  • Adopt a flexible approach to hours of duty, in order to meet the needs of the service over a 24 hour period.

What you'll have:

A current NMC Pin registration (MENTAL HEALTH)
A legal right to work in the U.K.
Experience in Neurorehabilitation advantageous.
