We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Emergency Department nurses who are ready to undertake the challenge of Band 6 working in a busy and fast paced ED.

Our department encompasses a 7-bedded Resuscitation area, 20 bedded Majors area, an Ambulatory Majors area and a new integrated Urgent Treatment Centre.

We serve a large and diverse local population with a wide variety of health needs.

Job Summary

• Accountable to the ED Matrons
• To provide quality nursing assessment and care for patients presenting to the ED. To effectively provide daily management and co-ordination of individual areas of the ED.
• To contribute to the support and guidance of junior members of nursing staff within the ED.
  
  

Role of Department

• To receive, assess and treat patients involved in an accident or having an acute illness, prior to hospital admission or discharge back into the community.
• To provide a suitable working environment for all members of staff where patients receive a high standard of care, and which is conducive to the education and development of nursing and medical staff wishing to specialise or gain experience in Emergency care.
• To accept patients referred by their General Practitioner to the on-call teams for urgent assessment, and when appropriate admission.
