About the Role
We’re looking for an iOS Engineer with serious chops — someone who builds smooth, reliable, and high-performing apps. You’ll work on complex mobile experiences that power crypto access for thousands of users across Africa (and beyond). Whether you’re a senior engineer ready to deepen your impact or a staff engineer ready to lead architectural decisions and mentor the next generation, this role was made for you.

What You’ll Be Owning

Drive Mobile Engineering Excellence

In your first 90 days: Own and optimize our iOS app’s architecture—make it scalable, fast, and future-proof.

By 6 months: Lead cross-functional delivery with product and design, shipping major features that delight users.

On-going: Define and enforce iOS best practices, from code quality to performance optimization.

Technical Leadership

Be a thought leader on the team and across the organization

Lead technical decisions around native iOS contributions

Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers to elevate the team’s output and culture.

Architect and develop mobile strategy in alignment with Quidax’s growth and crypto roadmap.

Team & Culture Building

Collaborate closely with product, design, and other stakeholders to ship great products

Provide technical structure to teams and collaborate with management and stakeholders to define and implement strategic roadmaps

Biggest Challenges You’ll Tackle

Here’s what will keep you up at night, but you will want to get it solved like yesterday

Balancing rapid feature delivery with bulletproof app performance and stability, no pressure.

Navigating complex integrations between native and web content without losing your mind.

Driving technical strategy and implementation for iOS, including architecture, performance, and security

Raising the technical bar while mentoring others and keeping delivery fast

Balancing product velocity with long-term architectural decisions

Helping define what great looks like for crypto experiences on Mobile

What We’re Looking For

You write clean code. You sweat the small stuff when it matters. You obsess over system design. And you care about impact.

8+ years of hands-on experience in iOS development with proven experience leading projects or teams

Experience architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact

Strong command of Swift, SwiftUI, and mobile architecture principles

Proficiency in Kotlin Multiplatform and Dart for cross-platform projects

Familiarity with Combine, MVVM, and performance optimization techniques

Nice-to-haves:

Familiarity with blockchain integrations or custody wallets

Experience working in a remote startup environment

You’ve built secure, highly reliable financial systems (bonus point if in crypto space)

Reporting Line

You’ll report to the Engineering Manager. You’ll jam regularly with senior engineers, product managers, and mobile/frontend teammates to build the backbone of our infrastructure.
