Tabeo is building the ‘Shopify' for private healthcare. Our platform simplifies payment and marketing services for local clinical providers including dentists, audiologists, and opticians. Customers benefit from quicker, easier access to relevant payment options in one unified checkout flow. Additionally, they receive access to:
i) custom landing pages,
ii) email & text campaign builders, and
iii) a dashboard to manage leads.

Today, over 8,000 dentists across the UK use Tabeo, with 200 more joining each month. Tabeo is the dominant market leader for patient finance and aims to be the same for cards and capitation plans. Sector-specific features and highly competitive pricing will support upselling the service. Concurrently, we aim to expand our market share in new verticals such as hearing and vision care. Since 99% of payments rely on cards, you will build and own the data highway to streamline marketing flows for our customers.

The business is profitable, with plans to grow revenues by over 100% annually over the next five years.

We believe in a remote-first approach, providing teams with all necessary perks and tools to thrive. We gather twice a year for Team Weeks — previously in Dubai, Lisbon, and London; upcoming in Budapest and Reykjavik.

Requirements

About the role:

We're seeking our first dedicated DevOps engineer! Currently, we have two cross-functional product teams, with plans to add a third in 2025. We are ambitious and face many strategic and technical challenges. We need an experienced, self-directed specialist to own our platform’s stability, observability, and operational excellence — driving improvements in infrastructure, developer productivity, and platform health. Key impact areas include:

• Establishing and improving monitoring and alerting to enhance visibility and reduce response times
• Proactively identifying risks and bottlenecks to increase resilience and uptime
• Monitoring infrastructure costs, identifying inefficiencies, and optimizing usage without sacrificing performance
• Building automation and scripts to reduce manual tasks and improve workflows
• Strengthening deployment pipelines for safer, more predictable releases
• Creating tooling and automation to enable faster, safer software delivery
• Defining and implementing key metrics for infrastructure and platform performance
• Ensuring infrastructure scalability to support growth, while maintaining performance and operational simplicity

Tools and technologies we typically use include:

• Go for application development
• Google Cloud for legacy infrastructure
• Confluent Kafka for event handling
• Serverless AWS technologies (API Gateway, Lambda, EventBridge, DynamoDB), Docker for new infrastructure
• PostgreSQL databases
• Javascript and TypeScript for frontend, hosted on Vercel
