Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in the UK is recruiting a Senior SRE Squad Lead to shape reliable, secure and scalable cloud platforms in a hybrid working setup. The role covers leadership and hands-on engineering across DevOps and SRE practices, with a focus on observability and service reliability.

You will lead a team of SREs, partner with product and architecture, and drive CI/CD improvements while embedding SLIs/SLOs and error budgets to reduce incidents and improve performance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineers or line management in a technical team.
• Strong communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and IaC tools.
• Experience designing & operating distributed systems for reliability.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code in at least one language.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Site Reliability Engineers, setting direction and fostering a high-performing culture.
• Build relationships with product, delivery and architecture to align platform services with business needs.
• Provide technical leadership across DevOps and SRE practices; promote reliability and continuous improvement.
• Coach and mentor engineers across DDaT to build a diverse engineering community.
• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using IaC.
• Enable observability with monitoring, logging, metrics and alerting for proactive service management.
• Work to define and embed SLIs, SLOs and error budgets pragmatically.
• Support CI/CD pipelines to enable safe, frequent changes.
• Oversee live service reliability and incident management with a learning-focused culture.
• Ensure security, resilience, and compliance are embedded in engineering practices.
