Job summary

Admiral Group Plc in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to drive reliability, performance, and scalability across our software systems and infrastructure. You will lead through others, design resilient platforms, and advance observability, automation, and incident management.

You will mentor engineers, shape engineering strategy, collaborate with squads and architecture, and promote SRE best practices, including SLOs/SLIs, CI/CD, IaC, and DevSecOps.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineering teams and driving reliability.
• Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure/GCP) and containers.
• Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tooling (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and modern engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction within squads and mentor engineers.
• Design scalable, secure, highly available systems on cloud platforms (Azure/GCP).
• Build and maintain observability, monitoring, and alerting solutions.
• Drive incident management, post-incident reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to CI/CD, IaC, and deployment automation.
• Document designs and operational procedures for cross‑team collaboration.
