Job summary

VIQU IT Recruitment is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for a B2B SaaS environment based in Milton Keynes, with two on-site days per week. You will manage cloud and on-prem infra using Terraform and Kubernetes to provision servers and automate lifecycle.

The role focuses on incident response, observability (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus), and improving MTTR, while collaborating with internal and customer teams; salary up to £75,000 with a bonus and on-call allowance.

Responsibilities

• Use Terraform and Kubernetes to manage, provision, and configure servers and networks, and automate application lifecycles.
• Use Datadog and other observability tools to monitor application performance.
• Implement new ways of working and help shape how we respond to and recover from incidents.
• Take ownership of incident resolution.
• Improve reliability metrics, including MTTR, incident frequency, and on-call toil, by evaluating incidents.
• Participate in an on-call rota and respond to incidents while on call.
• Identify automation opportunities and implement changes that improve reliability.

Salary: £75,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar cloud, infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering role within a customer-facing environment, such as SaaS or an MSP
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and on-premises virtual machines
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform; container orchestration, such as Kubernetes; and monitoring and observability tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Azure Monitor
• Ability to implement processes and tools and support development and support teams in adopting new ways of working
• Ability to communicate with internal teams and external customers
• Networking skills across cloud and on-premises environments
• Windows or Linux systems administration skills, with Linux preferred
• Previous use of AI tools to improve efficiency

We are partnering with a well-established B2B SaaS company undergoing a significant platform transformation. This Senior Site Reliability Engineer role offers the opportunity to help build stability, support the upkeep of systems, and contribute to new tooling and processes across the transformation. You will have scope to shape how our cloud function operates, with the potential to progress into a team lead position as the team grows. The role is based in Milton Keynes, with two days on site each week, and offers a salary of up to £75,000, plus a bonus and on-call allowance.
