Job summary

Candour is seeking an experienced Senior SQL Developer to own a critical SQL Server environment and help design, develop, and optimise database solutions in a collaborative tech team in Stoke-on-Trent. You will influence technical direction, improve performance, and mentor others.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Microsoft SQL Server development experience.
• Proficient in T-SQL and SQL Server 2019+.
• Experience designing relational databases and data models.
• Experience with ETL processes and SSIS.
• Strong performance tuning and query execution plans.
• Experience with backups, recovery, and security.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and optimisation of SQL Server databases.
• Develop complex T-SQL: stored procedures, functions, views, triggers.
• Troubleshoot performance: queries, blocking, deadlocks.
• Support backups, recovery, security, and high availability.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts and stakeholders on solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior developers.
