Job summary

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to lead large SQL database environments as part of the ICT Server Team in London. You will maintain, configure, optimise, and develop the Trust's database infrastructure to ensure availability, performance, integrity, and security across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have strong SQL Server DBA experience, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and database design.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL Server DBA experience, including maintenance and design.
• Experience with virtualization technologies is essential.
• Focus on performance tuning, troubleshooting, and security.

Responsibilities

• Review, optimise, and promote stability across the RDBMS environment.
• Act as SME for database design, implementation, and optimisation.
• Monitor, tune, and ensure availability of databases.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues to minimise downtime.
• Develop policies for database management and security.
• Lead delivery of database projects within time and budget.
