Job summary

TOMORROW HIRE is seeking an experienced Database Administrator 2 to support its Microsoft SQL Server environment and help with a major migration. This on-site contract is based in Richmond, VA, and requires hands-on production DBA work, troubleshooting, backup and recovery, security, and migration support.

Candidates must be able to work 100% on-site in Richmond, reside in the United States for the assignment, and be legally authorized to work without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on experience supporting production databases.
• Strong SQL Server administration and migration experience.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and monitoring tasks.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively on migration projects.
• Familiarity with security reviews related to database operations.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage production database environments.
• Provide day-to-day administration for MS SQL Server environments.
• Support SQL Server versions 2008 through 2019.
• Troubleshoot database and system issues; provide break/fix response.
• Perform backup, recovery, and monitoring activities.
• Assist with migration moves and post-migration validation.
