Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically advanced Senior Instrument Software QA Engineer to lead and execute testing strategies for our spatial research products. This role requires a deep understanding of software quality assurance methodologies, automation frameworks, and a strong appreciation for scientific software applications—especially those involving high-throughput image analysis, bioinformatics pipelines, and complex data visualization.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, document and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and bug reports for the software on our instrument platform.
• Perform regression testing on new software releases to ensure high-quality software delivery
• Implement and extend automated testing frameworks to improve QA efficiency and coverage.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, computational biologists, scientists, and product managers to understand requirements and how the user is expected to use the product
• Review and approve instrument changes to assess change impact to platform

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software QA, with 2+ years of experience performing SW QA on instrument control software
• Expertise with QA test automation tools
• Ability to assess risks across complex products and design test strategies that effectively minimize risks
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools
• Strong analytical and debugging skills with a proactive problem-solving attitude.

Qualifications:

• Experience with spatial transcriptomics, image-based genomics platforms, or high-content imaging systems.
• Instrument Software, hands-on experience with scientific instrument software.
• Knowledge of scientific data analysis tools, including ability to perform data analysis with Python.
• Knowledge of standard project management and change control processes.
• Understanding of GxP, ISO 9001, or similar regulatory frameworks (if applicable).
