Senior Sports Instructor - Summer - Salisbury, Wiltshire
Hours: 07:30-17:30, Monday-Friday (Total hours will not exceed 45 hours per week)
Salary: £569.60 - £681.39 per week, depending on age, experience, qualifications, and camp size.
(Contracts for February Half Term will be issued at 2023 wage levels. 2024 wage levels are effective from 1st April.)
Reportable to: Camp Manager, Area Manager, and Central Office.

Senior Sports Instructor Duties
- Support and deliver induction training; oversee set-up days before camp.
- Complete paperwork and manage high-risk activities following Barracudas Activity Codes of Practice.
- Enforce health and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment.
- Organise a varied timetable for the camp, including activities suitable for different ages and all equipment usage.
- Coordinate Early and Late Club sessions, including staffing and scheduling.
- Update and communicate with Area Managers and Central Office regularly.
- Use sporting knowledge to guide staff, ensure safety, and enhance activities with appropriate equipment.
- Demonstrate new activities to staff to build confidence in delivery.
- Schedule Skill Builders courses and monitor content adherence.
- Oversee paperwork with Specialist Instructors: Multi-Activity, Fencing+, and Lifeguards.
- Liaise daily with parents and guardians.
- Maintain site and equipment tidiness; ensure proper packing away of all equipment.
- Assess and review staff performance at season's end.
Requirements
- Attend compulsory senior training events.
- Experience in sports, coaching (preferably with children), or team leadership.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Obtain or hold an enhanced DBS check (through Barracudas or on the Update Service).
- Provide satisfactory professional and academic references.
- Attend and deliver induction training prior to camp.
- Possession of Barracudas Multi-Activity qualification is desirable.
- Complete annual online training.
- Assist with camp pack-up procedures.
- Aim for at least half of the senior staff to be Paediatric First Aid trained, depending on camp size.
Additional Responsibilities
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently.
- Proactively address safety issues.
- Prepare for induction training using relevant manuals.
- Conduct staff evaluations at the end of their contracts.
- Report child protection concerns to a designated person.
- Be aware of and accommodate children with additional needs, including medical or dietary requirements.
- Administer medication following EI forms and document appropriately.
- Bring swimwear daily for potential swimming sessions.
- The role's inclusion in ratio depends on the number of children; Central Office will notify staff if applicable.
