Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking a Bank Senior Speech & Language Therapist to provide expert assessment and intervention for children with complex needs in NW Surrey. You’ll work with families, carers, and a wide children’s services workforce, delivering tailored, evidence-based therapy in a hybrid office/home setting.

Qualifications

• Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent with HCPC registration.
• Knowledge/training in ASD strategies and interventions (PECS, SCERTS, ADOS).
• HCPC Licence to Practice is required.
• Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
• Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
• Experience with ELKLAN or WellComm training is advantageous.
• Demonstrable NHS experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality school-based assessments as part of a MDT for children and young people.
• Provide support and therapy programmes to children, families, and carers; adapt communication accordingly.
• Share complex information about children’s progress with the team and stakeholders.
• Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings with specialist input.
• Plan, organise, and manage therapy services, including supervision and training.
• Deliver individual and group therapy interventions across home, clinic, and education settings with evidence-based practice.
• Conduct complex assessments, contribute to diagnoses, identify goals, and make referrals as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation per professional standards.
• Demonstrate empathy when supporting families adjusting to their child’s condition.
• Apply clinical reasoning to assess needs, develop/adjust plans, and evaluate outcomes.
• Participate in service development, audits, and research to enhance practice.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and comply with HCPC requirements.
• Prioritise caseloads, respond to urgent referrals, and deputise for Band 7 when required.

Education

Speech & Language Therapy degree or equivalent (P.G.D./MSc leading to HCPC registration)

ASD strategies training (PECS, SCERTS, ADOS)

HCPC Licence to Practice

Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists

2+ years post-qualification experience
