Job summary

A respected food manufacturing company in the Tees Valley area is seeking a Senior Specifications Technologist. In this role, you will support the New Product Development and Technical teams to ensure accurate product specifications. You will manage technical information on packaging, liaise with customers, maintain compliance with legislation, and review ingredient specifications. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in food manufacturing and a solid understanding of HACCP and GMP. This position offers a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday, with salary dependent on experience, and benefits including pension and life cover.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience within Food Manufacturing.
• Must understand HACCP, GMP, and hygiene standards.
• Experience in working with major retailers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure due diligence with timescales and company procedures.
• Maintain accuracy of technical information on packaging.
• Attend customer meetings for specifications review.
• Stay updated with current legislation and company policies.
• Assess raw materials specifications according to standards.
• Review analytical data for compliance.
• Support production teams to provide solutions.

Skills

Overview

My client, a successful and well-respected food manufacturer in the Middlesbrough area, is seeking a Senior Specifications Technologist to join their Technical department. You will take a key role in supporting the New Product Development Team and Technical teams to ensure product specifications and information is correct.

Responsibilities

• Ensure due diligence and take into consideration timescales, company procedures, legislation, and customer codes of practice
• Ensuring that correct technical information is on correct packaging
• Attendance at customer meetings
• To ensure you keep up to date with current legislation and company policies
• Ensuring that raw materials specifications are assessed according to standards
• Reviewing analytical data
• Be compliant with customer requirements
• Support to production to provide solutions

Skills and experience

• Understanding of HACCP, GMP and hygiene
• Basic understanding of Microbiology and Nutrition
• Minimum 2 years’ experience within Food Manufacturing
• Experience working with major retailers
