Job Description

As the Senior Specialist - Technology Support Services, you will be the trusted advisor and technical support professional for the Wesco Global Solutions business. The Global Technical Resource Center (GTRC) team uses their extensive experience to provide technical advice, guidance, and support to Solutions Support and Advanced Technology Support teams. The team actively works with and supports ATS engagements with global sales representatives and supports all large, complex, and global opportunities. The team also supports the Corporate Marketing, Supply Chain Solutions and Category Management groups as Subject Matter Experts. Managing solutions design, document review and development of Private Land Mobil Radio (LMR) projects. Must have experience designing public safety, Motorola LMR head ends, and iBwave level 3 RF Modeling tool.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design and review Commercial Cellular, Public Safety, WIFI and Fixed Wireless Access engineering on key projects and sales opportunities.
  • Position standards-based technology solutions and education that meets the customer's needs. Provides deliverables of BOM's, design (Visio/CAD, iBWave) and written specifications as needed.
  • Works with project managers and provides billing information to customers. Maintains control documentation for new and on-going designs. Shares information between internal and external liaisons.
  • Engage all sales opportunities or support requests from any country or region. The Technology Support Services team has specialists throughout the globe in various technologies that can be pulled into any project anywhere as the need arises.
  • Deliver credibility and value to our customers in the education and positioning of solutions for technology in various markets.
  • Assists with training and knowledge sharing within team. Confronts and solves performance/operational issues to improve development efficiency. Oversees a robust project management process and delivery timelines to keep projects on schedule and on budget.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate degree (U.S.)/College Diploma (Canada) or commensurate years of technical experience required.
  • Licenses/Certificates/Designations required.
  • Bachelor's Degree - Technical or engineering discipline preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in the technical field of expertise in design, implementation and/or commissioning.
  • 2 years of experience working with AutoCAD 2D or JVSG or iBwave.
  • 2 years of experience working with AVAware or Bluebeam or XTEN AV software packages.
  • BICSI RCDD or Industry Equivalent.
  • Possess a customer-centric mindset.
  • Possess intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio or AutoCAD 2D.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge in specialist field with fundamental presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
