Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

What you'll be working: Our standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We offer flexibility to accommodate your personal or professional needs, which you can discuss with us.

What you'll be doing:

  1. Provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) assessment and treatment for patients with physical, cognitive, communication, and behavioural difficulties caused by neurological insult and acquired brain injury.
  2. Devise evidence-based therapy programmes for patients, emphasizing multidisciplinary collaboration to achieve optimal outcomes.
  3. Independently plan and lead communication therapy groups.
  4. Maintain high standards of clinical care in line with national guidelines.
  5. Perform key worker duties, including goal-setting, therapy coordination, and discharge planning.
  6. Supervise less experienced SLTs and/or assistants as per policy.
  7. Contribute to the induction and training of team members.
  8. Ensure compliance with relevant codes of practice and regulations.
  9. Participate in policy and service development initiatives related to SLT.
  10. Ensure safety and uphold human rights of patients.
