Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Role: Deputy Home Manager, Other Qualified Professional

The salary for this permanent Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist job is £43,742 - £50,056 per annum.

Main Duties:

  1. Function as an independent speech and language therapist within a multidisciplinary team.
  2. Evaluate how an individual's communication affects their daily life and provide suitable interventions.
  3. Collaborate with the individual and their social network to address and resolve communication barriers.
  4. Conduct communication assessments and develop management and rehabilitation plans, consulting with specialists as needed.
  5. Deliver training to staff and the social networks of service users.
  6. Play a key role in the development and enhancement of services and organisational practices.

Requirements of the Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist:

  1. Possess a Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  2. Hold current registration with the HCPC.
  3. Demonstrate specialist knowledge of speech and language therapy models and interventions in acquired brain injury (ABI), including social communication, cognitive communication, and communication partner training.
  4. Capable of managing complex dysphagia cases within an adult neurology caseload.
  5. Have at least 4 years of qualified experience, including handling complex case management.
