Job description

A Vacancy at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

We are seeking an experienced physiotherapist to provide expert support to our Paediatric Respiratory service, working with both inpatients and outpatients on a 6-month fixed term basis.

This role involves delivering high-quality physiotherapy assessments and treatments, including initiating and evaluating individualised treatment programs for patients with complex respiratory conditions, including asthma, non-CF bronchiectasis, breathing pattern disorders and complex neuro-disability airway clearance. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and adjusting treatment plans, teaching physiotherapy techniques, and providing education to patients, families, and caregivers. Additionally, you will play a key role in leading or supporting physiotherapy services within ELCH while collaborating closely with the chronic respiratory multidisciplinary team.

We are looking for a skilled physiotherapist to join our team, specialising in the assessment and treatment of paediatric patients with complex respiratory conditions across various settings, including acute wards, day-case unit and outpatient clinics. You will support acute paediatric ward staff with complex respiratory cases, provide cross-cover for the Long Term Ventilation Team, and utilise advanced clinical reasoning to develop and adjust individualised physiotherapy management programs. In this role, you will also contribute to the ongoing development of the Paediatric Chronic Respiratory Service by collaborating with medical colleagues to set standards, monitor service delivery, and lead audits. You will offer specialist advice and guidance to junior staff and other healthcare professionals, and ensure clinical governance and risk management practices are upheld with evidence-based treatment plans.
