The position is based at Victoria Hospital. Applications are invited from suitably qualified, HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists for the role of Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist in the Department of Cellular Pathology.
The successful candidate should have significant post-HCPC registration experience in an NHS diagnostic cellular (Histopathology) pathology laboratory and hold an MSc in Biomedical Science (or be within 12 months of completion).
Responsibilities include line management for the main laboratory, performing a Quality/Training Officer role, supervising, training, and demonstrating outstanding communication skills. A clear understanding of UKAS ISO:15189 accreditation standards is required. The department holds UKAS ISO 15189 accreditation and is an approved IBMS training laboratory.
