Job summary

ClearSpace is seeking a Spacecraft Thermal Architect to own the spacecraft thermal architecture across the mission lifecycle, define control strategies, and drive design decisions. You will lead trade-offs between passive and active control, set requirements, budgets, and margins while coordinating with MTP, mechanical, propulsion, and avionics teams.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in spacecraft thermal engineering, leadership experience, and strong expertise in ESATAN-TMS and ECSS standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in spacecraft thermal engineering.
• Led thermal engineer or architect on spacecraft programs.
• Expert in thermal control systems and analysis methods.
• Proficient in ESATAN-TMS and CAD tools.
• Familiar with ECSS thermal engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Own the spacecraft thermal architecture throughout the mission lifecycle.
• Define and justify the overall thermal control strategy for the spacecraft and payloads.
• Lead thermal design trade-offs with passive and active control solutions.
• Define thermal requirements and allocations to subsystems and equipment.
• Develop and maintain spacecraft thermal budgets and margins.
• Lead thermal modelling activities and ensure model correlation.
