Job summary

ClearSpace is seeking a Spacecraft Mechanical Architect to own the thermo-mechanical architecture and lead MTP activities. You will coordinate design, analysis and verification across mechanical, thermal and propulsion domains, interfacing with customers and suppliers.

The role involves leading multidisciplinary teams, driving trade-offs, and ensuring design coherence from concept to launch and operations within an agile, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership of spacecraft mechanical architecture on complex space projects.
• Expertise in spacecraft structures, layouts and payload accommodation.
• Experience defining spacecraft mechanical interfaces and configuration evolution.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the spacecraft mechanical architecture from concept through launch and operations.
• Lead mechanical design definition including primary/secondary structures and interfaces.
• Support trade-offs affecting mass, stiffness, thermal performance and manufacturability.
• Ensure consistency between configuration, accommodation and assembly constraints.
• Lead mechanical interfaces with payload, launcher, separation system and AIT interfaces.
• Coordinate analyses to justify the design.
• Support design reviews ensuring MTP decisions are sound and traceable.
• Define verification philosophy and oversee qualification/acceptance activities.
• Assist anomaly investigations and root cause analyses for MTP equipment.
• Act as technical interface for customers, partners and suppliers on mechanical topics.
• Mentor engineers within the MTP team and promote best practices.
