We are looking for a Senior Sous Chef to join our team at Wagamama, a company that celebrates diversity and encourages individuality. With over 165 restaurants, we value personality over perfection and aim to nourish both body and soul.

The role |

As a Senior Sous Chef, you will be an inspirational leader, fostering a positive environment for your team and guests. You will support in coaching and developing your team to achieve their best, while driving restaurant performance and delivering excellent results.

What you will do |

  • Create a positive environment where your team feels cared for and valued, celebrating successes and nurturing talent.
  • Ensure an exceptional guest experience by maintaining high standards in food preparation and service.
  • Maintain spotless food, health, and safety standards, and understand the financial aspects of the kitchen including gross profit, stock control, and labour costs.
  • Build a coaching culture within your team, working closely with the Head Chef on recruitment and development.
  • Be a proactive problem solver, making quick decisions when necessary.

  • Experience leading a kitchen team as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to have meaningful conversations and support your team.
  • Experience in maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Understanding of financial performance, including gross profit and stock management.
  • Ability to manage labour costs and adapt to changing demands.
  • Leadership qualities that inspire and engage your team.

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly on your feet.
