Our award-winning LOCH FYNE OYSTER BAR has built a reputation as one of Scotland's very best seafood restaurants, featuring the highest quality seafood indigenous to Argyll. POSITION: SENIOR SOUS CHEF.

RATE OF PAY: Competitive.

ADDITIONAL: Customer tips are shared between the Restaurant Team.

CONTRACT HOURS: Full time hours (40 hours).

WORK SHIFTS: Between Monday to Sunday, with evening and weekend working required.

OTHER INFO: Due to our location and the work shifts, your own transport would be beneficial. Car share / transport may be available.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and highly organised SENIOR SOUS CHEF to assist with the day to day operation of the KITCHEN TEAM, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and service. Key responsibilities will be to assist the Head Chef with all aspects of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking and presentation; assisting with the supervision, training and mentoring of the Kitchen Team, ensuring they adhere to food safety and hygiene standards; helping to oversee inventory management, including stock ordering and rotation, managing cost control measures to optimise profitability; plus deputising in the Head Chef's absence, including organising staff rotas to ensure efficient staffing levels.

The successful applicant needs to have strong leadership skills, with the ability to supervise and motivate a team, be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen, whilst maintaining attention to detail, as well as having excellent food presentation skills, plus a knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices, together with strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively. Experience in a similar environment working with fish and seafood, plus a HNC level qualification or experience would be beneficial.
