Job summary

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust in Birmingham is recruiting a passionate Sonographer to join our new, state-of-the-art hospital and expanding ultrasound service. You will regularly undertake and report on ultrasound examinations, write independent reports, and communicate complex imaging findings to clinicians and patients within a multidisciplinary team.

To be considered you should hold a DCR or BSc(Hons) Radiography, be State Registered, and have DMU or Pg Dip Ultrasound; some

Qualifications

DCR or BSc(Hons) Radiography required.
State Registration as Radiographer / Nurse required.
DMU or Pg Dip Ultrasound qualification required.
Active engagement in Masters level study or management course is desirable.

Responsibilities

Regularly undertake and provide comprehensive, independently written reports on ultrasound examinations.
Communicate highly complex imaging information with Clinicians and patients within a multidisciplinary team.
Explain ultrasound procedures to patients, obtaining informed consent within an ethical framework.
Adhere to Standards and Operational Policies for a quality imaging service and supervise junior staff.
Assist in developing and producing protocols, procedures and training manuals.
Contribute to evidence-based protocols and guidelines and inform the Lead Sonographer as needed.
