Job description

Why do we need you ?

We are seeking a driven, talented, and creative Senior Solutions Engineer to join our Digital Services Team. This hybrid position is based out of our manufacturing facility in Bristol, RI. The Senior Solutions Engineer will combine their strong engineering background with their simulation experience to develop and implement powerful tools. They will support our technical team to gain insights, identify and analyze trends, and provide high-performance sealing solutions. The Senior Solutions Engineer is also expected to be a leader who supports, trains, and develops others within the group. Success in this role will lead to time savings in design, innovative sealing solutions, and influence our long-term technical and business strategy.

Duties include:
  1. Lead projects focusing on part design, process design, and materials selection related to manufacturing critical components such as spring-energized seals, metal cased lip seals, and metal seals.
  2. Lead engineering services, including simulation and testing, and interface with customers and internal commercial teams.
  3. Develop advanced digital engineering tools leveraging machine learning and AI.
  4. Lead projects in design assessment by simulation, including scope definition, model construction, analysis, debugging, parameterization, data modeling, analysis, and presenting findings.
  5. Collaborate effectively with R&D, engineering colleagues, product and marketing managers, application engineers, DSMs, and external customers.
  6. Support proposing projects and programs aligned with the R&D direction of the group.
  7. Focus on expanding our engineering and testing services capabilities.
  8. Work on model development and data generation for engineering computation programs.
  9. Coordinate the rollout of simulation engineering services, establishing guidelines, marketing materials, case studies, communication, and training.
  10. Participate in TechDays and customer meetings to promote our simulation capabilities.
  11. Other duties as assigned.
Is this job for you ?

Requirements include:

  • BS Degree with 12+ years of experience, MS with 7+ years, or PhD with 3+ years in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with simulation, materials, and manufacturing processes in an industrial or research setting.
  • Expertise in numerical simulation, especially FEM, and statistical design related to part design, mechanical behavior, and composites.
  • Experience with Abaqus, Ansys, COMSOL, Python, and web-based applications.
  • Knowledge of engineered polymers.
  • Technical work demonstrating familiarity with mathematical models, materials testing, simulation tools, data analysis, IP, patents, and technical documents.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred.
Steps to join us

We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package, including a pay range of $89,500 to $138,500 per year, with potential bonuses. The total target cash range, including bonuses, is $100,200 to $155,100, depending on various factors.
