Job Description:

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to join our Financial Services team, focusing on Capital Markets customers in the UK. As a trusted technical advisor, you will help leading financial institutions innovate and transform their business using AWS technologies.

Solutions Architects work closely with AWS customers to optimize their use of the Cloud. They manage the technical relationship with customers, offering guidance on security, cost, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency. They understand customer needs and provide strategic advice on creating business value through technology, collaborating with teams such as account management, professional services, support, product teams, and partners.

This role allows you to apply your creativity by linking technology to tangible solutions and educating customers about possibilities within a dynamic market. You will work alongside an Account Executive to help customers achieve their goals with AWS technology.

The Solutions Architecture team is diverse, with members from various backgrounds. Practical knowledge of AWS is desirable but not mandatory; a strong technical foundation and willingness to learn are essential.

Key Responsibilities

1. Own the technical relationship with the customer, acting as their trusted advisor, with their interests guiding your guidance.
2. Lead technical discussions, architecture design, reviews, and workshops across trading, risk, post-trade, market data, asset, and wealth management domains to drive business value.
3. Design scalable, secure solutions leveraging AWS services and emerging technologies like AI/ML and HPC.
4. Collaborate with sales teams to develop and implement customer engagement strategies.
5. Create technical content and reference architectures for capital markets use cases.
6. Influence AWS product development based on customer feedback.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent, or relevant professional/military experience.
• Experience in IT development, implementation, or consulting in software or internet industries.
• Knowledge in areas such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, security, networking, or data analytics.
• Experience in application and infrastructure design, implementation, or consulting.
• Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of SAP systems (e.g., S/4HANA, SAP HANA) and their architecture.
• Experience in infrastructure and database architecture, networking.
• Experience working with end-user or developer communities.
