Job summary

Ocho is seeking a Solutions Architect in Belfast to set and own the architecture for a major insurance modernisation programme. You will span data processing, integrations and user-facing workflows, working with engineers, product owners and architects across sprints, turning business complexity into clear designs.

You will lead architecture decisions, produce ADRs and ensure architectural direction aligns with enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Solutions Architect or senior technical design lead.
• Proven delivery of cloud-native solutions on AWS with ADRs and NFRs.
• Experience integrating modern and legacy systems with data architecture grounding.
• Experience in insurance or financial services domain.
• Exposure to AI/ML platform integration and large-scale modernisation.
• AWS Professional or Specialty certification.

Responsibilities

• Define and own solution architecture across multiple engineering teams.
• Translate direction into actionable designs aligned with roadmaps.
• Produce ADRs and non-functional requirements specifications.
• Own API contract between platform and experience layers with versioning.
• Lead Well-Architected Reviews for security, reliability, and cost.
• Identify architectural risks early, especially integrations and data.
• Support agile delivery by joining sprint ceremonies and architecture syncs.
• Collaborate with security and observability teams for secure designs.
