Job summary

SSA Digital Recruitment is seeking a Senior Technical Designer / SolidWorks Designer in Northampton. Hybrid role with 2 days weekly in the office, focusing on turning creative concepts into precise, manufacture-ready SolidWorks designs for retail displays, fixtures and POS environments.

You will create 3D CAD models, drawings and BOMs, collaborate with project managers and suppliers, and apply value engineering to improve production efficiency while preserving design intent.

Qualifications

• SolidWorks and 3D CAD experience; manufacturing-focused.
• Experience with retail displays, POS, shopfitting, or branded environments.
• Ability to develop manufacture-ready drawings and BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical design process across a varied portfolio of retail, POS and brand activation projects.
• Develop approved concepts into technically resolved SolidWorks designs ready for manufacture.
• Produce detailed 3D CAD models, elevations, sections, assembly drawings and BOMs with accuracy and manufacturing viability.
• Interrogate designs for materials, tolerances, construction methods and processes to identify issues early and propose solutions.
• Apply value engineering to improve manufacturing efficiency without compromising the concept.
