Job Description

We are recruiting a Head of Legal/Private Client Solicitor to lead complex estate planning, trust structuring, and probate work within a growing legal services business. This remote-first role offers autonomy and an opportunity to shape our legal function.

This position is strategic, supporting our transition to a regulated legal practice under the SRA. The successful candidate will ensure legal quality, compliance, and support the legal team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on private client matters such as:
• Wills and lifetime trusts
• Estate and inheritance tax planning
• Probate and estate administration
• Deeds of variation, declarations of trust, etc.
• Supervise residential conveyancing transactions linked to trusts.
• Draft complex legal documents in line with legal standards.
• Keep updated on private client law, tax, and compliance.
• Support compliance and governance, possibly as COLP.
• Mentor junior solicitors or trainees.

Your Experience

• UK-qualified solicitor (or CILEX) with 5+ years in private client law.
• Experience in trust drafting, estate planning, and probate.
• Knowledge of residential conveyancing related to trusts or estates.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality work.
• Strong communication skills and attention to legal detail.
• Experience with SRA regulations and possibly as COLP.
• Familiarity with legal case management systems.
