Job Description:

Our client, a reputable Scottish law firm, has an opportunity for a Contentious Construction lawyer to join its team in Edinburgh or Glasgow. The team specialises in construction and engineering disputes across the UK, focusing on sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and civil engineering.

You will work on complex disputes for major clients, handling mediation, adjudication, court, and arbitration matters. As a valued team member, you will:

  • Provide expert advice to sophisticated commercial clients on complex, high-value matters.
  • Contribute to shaping and achieving clients’ commercial goals by identifying and implementing effective solutions.
  • Actively represent clients in formal proceedings and alternative dispute resolution across the UK.
  • Assist in drafting settlements and dispute-related agreements.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ PQE, with the ability to manage work effectively to meet deadlines and budgets, keep clients and colleagues updated, follow firm policies, and contributes to process improvements.
