Job summary

Positiv Cohort Ltd in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior Systems Engineer focusing on software systems to shape complex defence platforms. You will drive requirements capture, traceability, and collaboration across customers and engineering teams to deliver robust solutions.

You will apply DOORS/DOORS NG or Rhapsody for requirements flowdown, manage engineering changes, and guide software components within modular architectures, communicating clearly across stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in requirements management and derivation, ideally within defence.
• Proficiency with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, DOORS NG, Rhapsody.
• Strong understanding of functional design and traceability from system to equipment levels.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical concepts into clear customer language.
• Demonstrated ability in engineering change control and configuration management.
• Experience initiating and conducting trade studies and system development activities.
• Background in developing complex systems, preferably in defence or aerospace environments.
• Ability to communicate architectures and technical ideas across stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with product lines and modular system architectures is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with defence clients to capture and refine operational needs into system and software requirements.
• Develop and manage system, subsystem, and software requirements with traceability.
• Contribute to product line strategy by informing reusable architecture components.
• Define and implement controlled processes for engineering changes and lifecycle integrity.
• Act as internal customer for software components to guide their development and integration.
